Angela Rothermel

Angela Rothermel brings extensive experience in systems-building, collaborative strategy, and implementing evidence-based early childhood programs at scale. She recently held a leadership role at Early Milestones Colorado, where she led the development and execution of multiple large-scale government contracts, as well as privately funded research, practice, and policy initiatives.

Prior to her role at Early Milestones Colorado, Angela spent eight years as the Director of Early Childhood Policy at Children Now in California. In this capacity, she led state-focused advocacy efforts to expand voluntary home visiting programs, promote developmental screenings and early intervention, and develop a comprehensive statewide prenatal-to-three policy agenda.

Angela has also directed one of Colorado's 35 local early childhood councils and served as a project coordinator for collective impact initiatives related to youth violence prevention, early childhood education quality, and mental health systems. She has worked directly with parents and early childhood educators as a home visitor, preschool director, community representative on a local Head Start Policy Council, and facilitator for both the Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers and the Family Leadership Training Institute initiatives.

Angela holds a master’s degree in educational policy and practice from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.A. from Middlebury College in Vermont.
